Sew to Speak

While in Columbus I visited Sew to Speak, a fabric store in Old Worthington neighborhood. They are located in a building which was the former Worthington Public Library, which is now next door.  There is a "makerspace" called "The Library" next door, which is a co-working envirnment and which intriguingly includes a  place called "the Electric Sheep".

They have carried yarn and done fiber arts classes, but are now expanding their inventory because of  closing of several other Columbus area local yarn stores.

I spoke with Rachel and Heather.  They told me that the store has been open for 14 years and is owned by Anita Gastaldo. Unfortunately Anita was not available for my unannounced visit.

The store carries wool, alpaca, merino, linen and cotton yarns.  I did not hear of any acrylic yarn mentioned.

They do carry some indie-dyed yarns and also more commercial brands of luxury yarn such as Madeline Tosh, Brooklyn Tweed and Blue Sky.

Check their Facebook and Instagram sites for classes.  They do not currently have open knitting sessions, but are weighing it for the future.

Here is a peek inside the store.  They are located in a building which was the former Worthington Public Library, which is now next door.  There is a "makerspace" called "The Library" next door.
